As Web Designer, we know one of the more challenging aspects of designing web pages is taking into account a myriad of display sizes and resolutions. In this case, how we can display a web design that it’s can view all visitors. Display resolutions commonly are measured in pixels. In this discussion, we will are guided how to choice display resolutions of our website. Resolution of this case refer to height and width dimensions of the entire display screen in pixel. There are standard dimensions for computer display, such as 800×600 resolution ( 15” screen CRT monitor ), 1024×768 resolution ( 17” screen CRT monitor ).

We must decide a standard size for the pages in our website, so visitors of our website will be seen more comfortable. Keep in our mind that visitors generally dislike horizontal scroll bar. we need to choose our page size that visitors can see the entire content of our website without scroll horizontal scroll bars. If a pages is too wide to fit on the visitor’s display, the browser automatically provides a horizontal scroll bars. There are no one want to scroll repeatedly from the end of one line on the right side back the beginning of the next line on the left side.

It’s the most common page size of the web today is 800 pixels as the horizontal size. With this size, it’s accessible to almost everyone or visitors. Generally, width of the pages is 780 pixel to make sure some of the browser such as chrome — the pixels that the browser itself uses.

Although visitors may dislike horizontal scrolling, vertical scrolling is usually well tolerated. While some visitors would prefer to scroll through one long page than to wait for several separate pages to download, others seem to dislike scrolling more than two or three screen. There doesn’t seem to be a consensus in the industry over which alternative is kindest to visitors. Keep in mind that every time a visitor reaches a “next” button, he or she must make a conscious decision whether or not to continue, whereas continuing to scroll might not trigger such an obvious “Should I or shouldn’t I?” consideration. As a result, there’s a chance that we might keep the visitor browsing longer with one long page than with several sequential pages.

We hope with this discussion, we can decide and determining the resolutions and dimensions of our website that it’s comfortable for many visitors.
